Fishing

Prince Of Wales Island Fishing Vacation

From June through October, the island of Prince of Wales sees large numbers of pacific salmon swarming its rivers. At times, there are so many fish in the water that it seems possible to nearly walk on top of the water.

Aside from the spectacular freshwater fishing, our saltwater fishing also rivals that of any other destination on the planet. Halibut, rockfish, cod, crab, shrimp, and more can be found swimming in the clear fertile waters of South East Alaska.

Hunting

Prince Of Wales Island Hunting Lodging

Prince of Wales island is also known as one of the top hunting destinations in Alaska. Far separated from from any serious hubs of civilization, Black Bear, Blackail Deer, and countless species of waterfowl find the rainforests of SE Alaska the perfect habitat.

Here wildlife populations are still healthy and robust. Hunters visiting the lodge have access to many amenities that will make your hunt comfortable, and in turn, hopefully more successful.

Ecotours

Prince Of Wales Island Wildlife and Nature Viewing

The area around Whale Pass is rich with wildlife. Whale Passage itself, and the waters of the Clarence Straight abound with whales, seals, sea lions, and otters. Humpback, fin and killer whales frequent the area, and particularly abundant at Snow Pass, a natural feeding area for the whales. Time on these local waters lends opportunity to view these beautiful giants at close range. On a smaller scale, crabbing and clamming are excellent in the area!
